Pickle: Bachelorette Party Alternatives

You don't want a stripper. You don't want to get wasted and do embarrassing things. But isn't that what a bachelorette party is?

The Pickle: You don't want to have the typical Bachelorette Party.

The Solution: I got some fun ideas that can clean it up!

Formal Cocktail Party - Have the girls get their hair and nails done, get all gussied up, drink out of nice cocktail glasses, and have a sit down dinner. It can be done at a nice restaurant if you got money. If not, maybe a friend with a nice house can host it at their place.

Cooking Class - I stole this idea from the Real Housewives of Miami. It looks like so much fun to have a chef come to the house and give a cooking lesson. Throw in a few drinks, you learn something and you get to eat good food!

Zumba Party - When my Zumba instructor mentioned that she had to do a birthday party one weekend, I quickly thought what a fun girl's night idea! Hire an instructor for a private party, host it at the gym, or at someone's house with a big living room. Yeah you get sweaty, but it makes for great casual fun and plenty of laughs. Besides, girls just wanna dance right? Then you can have that Corona without feeling guilty!

Slumber Party - We did it as little girls all the time. Sometimes a good old fashioned slumber party is just what a girl needs. Sleeping bags, cute pajamas, gossip and now that you are older, alcoholic beverages!

Changes

If you have been around the blog, you certainly have noticed that the look has changed.

Deciding to get a professional design for my blog was more for me to announce that this is a real part of my life and I am committed. I knew when I first started that I wanted a custom design but of course, when a blog first starts, it is hard to justify putting money into it if no one is reading it. So, thank you, thank you, thank you to those of you who read, comment, or have just stopped by for the first time.

The new look is a symbol of my commitment to my readers, supporters, weddings, love, to myself and most of all to Christ. I will continue to keep Christ ever present. This is the mission of the blog. To help make Christ ever present in marriage.

It is not an anniversary for my blog to have this new change. However, this is a time in my life that has significant meaning to me. Spring is the time of year when I was saved 8 years ago, baptized 7 years ago, became a born-again Christian 4 years ago when my whole world and perspective changed from my grandmother's death 4 years ago. This is the time that Christ died for us. This is the time for re-birth with blooming flowers reminding us that the world is alive.

I have lots of ideas and dreams for my blog. I pray everyday that I will reach my goals. So stay tuned. Wedding Pickle has a lot to offer! :)

Bride's Prayer: Arguing with Your Fiancé

Sometimes during your wedding planning you will get frustrated and angry about something. Unfortunately, the one who is around you the most will get the beating and who is that? Yep, your fiance.

Is it his fault? Maybe, maybe not. He didn't speak up, he didn't defend you, he didn't help, he didn't make the call, he didn't write the note. All this hoopla for the wedding day and it is consuming you and affecting your relationship. You are mad that he didn't help you pick between the chiavari chair versus the garden chair. Would you normally argue about those wedding situations in normal everyday life? No. Don't let the arguments consume you because your relationship prior to being engaged is why you are in engaged. Focus on that.

The Prayer

God, please help me to be patient and see the bigger picture before saying things I do not mean to those that I love. Help me to see what it really is that stirs me and place those feelings with you so that I don't waste my efforts on anger and worry.
