Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
Part Ten looks at
So what if he did something to piss you off, would it really satisfy you that you didn't put salt on his meal even though you know he can't live without salt in his food? Does it really satisfy you to make him sit and watch 5 hours of your Bravo shows because he made you mad yesterday? Probably not. You might do it to get back at him but it really doesn't do anything. The truth is what you should rejoice in the truth. So what that he made you watch 6 hours of football with his friends, the truth is that he wanted you there. So what if he acts with a temper and gives you an attitude, the truth is that he wanted to make you happy when he gave in and took you to get sushi at 11 at night just to make you happy. (These things my husband and I have done!)
Look at the truth behind all actions. If he acts out, perhaps it is because he got hurt because you mean so much to him. Now how cute is that! Give him a hug and a kiss. Don't delight in the evil actions, rejoice in the truth behind everything!
Do you have any examples or stories to share today for how Love should not delight in evil but rejoice in truth? Do share!
