Love Challenge Update

I've been going through a lot and brainstorming and thinking a lot these days. What this means is that I have decided to be up to something new. Anyway, I'm working on an idea for the love challenge series and it is also going to have a new "face". It is still going to be me in the video, but they are moving places. Think along the lines of a new domain.

Confused yet? So am I. I want to share what I'm working on but I just don't feel ready to make the change. So just bear with me with these Love Challenges, they will be back, I promise!

In the mean time, here are the challenges from last month:

May's Love Challenges
1- Write a note saying how proud you are of your man.
2- Do something or get something for him without him asking.
3- Give yourself an hour of "you"time that focuses on making you a better you.
4- Pick up a book or read an article that is marriage related. Knowledge is power!

Already did these? Maybe check out the challenges from the 14 Day Love Challenge we did in February. Pick one and challenge yourself to do that this week!

1- Begin a list of a 100 things you love about him
2- Hold his hand at a random moment
3- Be positive in your words and behavior
4- Tell him you love him at a random moment
5- Leave a sweet note somewhere for him to find
6- Give him a small gift to show you care
7- Ask for him to help you with something
8- Give him a compliment
9- Dress to impress him
10- Tell him "Thank you" for something specific he did
11- Start making plans to make him a heart-shaped food item
12- Find a moment today to cuddle with him
13- Dig out some old photos of the two of you and put them on display
14- Give him a Valentine's day card

Love Challenge 4

Lo and behold, I am late to post this week's challenge again! But here it is! This one was supposed to be all cute and on my back porch, but the video cut out at the end, so here is a bad lighting, no make-up, dirty hair one for you! lol. ;-p

Here are some books and blogs as I said I would recommend. I also threw in a couple sermon series about marriage from my fave church, Lifechurch.tv. I've watched and listened to them a couple times each and I always recommend them because Pastor Craig is truly amazing! Go ahead and watch one of the sermons this week too for this challenge. :-) A challenge bonus!

Love Challenge 3

It is the middle of the week but this week's challenge shouldn't be do difficult to execute during the rest of this week. At least I hope it isn't because it is an important one as you will see!

Mila was chewing on shoes so I had to grab her to keep her from tearing the house apart! I also wanted her to make an appearance, lol. So I apologize in advance for the very horrible video, but I just had to get this done before the hubs got home!

Week of Love: Blessed Moments

I don't even have to tell you how hard it was to narrow down my fave moment photos from all of my submissions from the past year. I couldn't get down to 10 but I've did narrow down best I could! I rallied up what I could to best feature all the reasons why weddings are such blessings. I thought no better way to end the Week of Love than to stir up the heart with all that makes a wedding one of the best day in a bride and groom's life. :-)

Week of Love: Let Them Eat Cake!

Remember how I explained how I collect ring shots? Well I'm also obsessed with cake! Just like the ring shots, I have a whole board on Pinterest dedicated to cake. I have always loved cake as probably my most favorite food, so when I was planning my wedding designing my own wedding cake was naturally the thing I was most proud of. However, as I probably shared multiple times in the life of this blog, my cake was botched and the cake that appeared at my wedding was not the cake I designed and ordered. :-( Thus started my obsession with wedding cakes! So now it is not only my favorite food but one of my favorite images when I see weddings. :-) They make me giddy and they make me smile. You'll see how I couldn't even round up only 10 images from my submission archives, so enjoy these beauties that made their appearance on my blog!

Week of Love: The Unique Touch

I learned my lesson from yesterday in that I can't do just 5 photos so 10 photos it is! Again, these come from the submission archives of my blog. The element of weddings that I want to feature today is that touch that a bride brings to her wedding to make it her own. It's the details and ideas that I find so fun when looking at weddings! Decor, favors, food and pets! I love it all! We all know that it is truly about the marriage and the Love of the couple, but the details are what help a couple bring their unique selves to their guests. :-)

Week of Love: Ring Shots

It is no secret that I love ring shots! If you follow me on Pinterest, you'll know that I have a board specifically for ring shots. I'm not even sure why I collect the images really. I guess I just love when a photographer gets creative with it. I guess I love the bling. I guess I love a shot specifically devoted to the one material item in our lives of the most symbolic meaning possible. Week of Love: The Love of a Man

My Christmas was sweet! I hope all of yours was too! Call my hubs and I crazy but we are spending our day today sitting in airports and airplanes to head cross country to sunny San Diego for a dear friend's wedding. I was just going to take this whole week that I'd be gone off, but I knew I just couldn't end 2011 without reflecting on anything at all! I have spent the month gathering the best posts from my archives and doing a lot of soul searching for the direction of this blog. One thing that I'm sure of is my love for Love and my obsession for Weddings! I decided to dedicate each day of this week to looking at what it is exactly that makes me love doing this blog and gawking at wedding and love things all the time. I'm calling it a Week of Love! This is also a chance for me to go back in review of many of my lovely engagement and wedding submissions from 2011.

Today is an element of Love that I never could get over. Every engagement shoot I'd look at from my submissions and on other blogs would leave me in awe and sometimes bewildered with one big question that my husband still cannot answer to me.

What is it about the woman you found that makes you love her? Ask any man that and he could probably spew off a long list of things. But my question is this:

What is that tingling, that exact moment and feeling that switches within a man's mind to get that ring and ask that beautiful question we women dream of, "Will you marry me?"

Men if you can answer that one, I want to know! I am fascinated by how a man melts to the woman he loves just to make her happy, to see her smile, and because he loves her. Seriously, how hard do we women work to get that sentiment out of our men? But when it comes to that engagement and wedding, they melt.

I remember doing our engagement shoot and my husband told me that he dreaded it and didn't want to do any silly fake kissing photos. When it came to it, he did them anyway without flinching! The love of a man gets him laying in the grass, doing silly poses, and doing cheesy things. Oh, how I love it!
