I'm going to interrupt the usual Sunday scripture series with a tribute to Dad's everywhere and to our heavenly father.
Or that I hadn't heard,
Life lessons that you taught to me,
But I got every word.
And that we'd grow apart,
But Dad, I picked up everything,
It's written on my heart.
The woman I am today;
You built a strong foundation
No one can take away.
And I'm very glad I did;
So here's to you, dear father,
From your forever grateful kid.
The song I danced to with my dad on my wedding day:
Cinderella
by Steven Curtis Chapman
She spins and she sways
To whatever song plays
Without a care in the world
And I'm sitting here wearing
The weight of the world on my shoulders
It's been a long day
And there's still work to do
She's pulling at me
Saying "Dad, I need you
There's a ball at the castle
And I've been invited
And I need to practice my dancing
Oh, please, Daddy, please?"
So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella
I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone...
She says he's a nice guy and I'd be impressed
She wants to know if I approve of the dress
She says, "Dad, the prom is just one week away
And I need to practice my dancing
Oh, please, Daddy, please?"
So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella
I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone
Well, she came home today with a ring on her hand
Just glowing and telling us all they had planned
She says, "Dad, the wedding's still six months away
But I need to practice my dancing
Oh, please, Daddy, please?"
So I will dance with Cinderella
While she is here in my arms
'Cause I know something the prince never knew
Oh, I will dance with Cinderella
I don't want to miss even one song
'Cause all too soon the clock will strike midnight
And she'll be gone
To whatever song plays
Without a care in the world
And I'm sitting here wearing
The weight of the world on my shoulders

Here is the video to the song if you wish to hear it. I don't know about you, but I get teary eyed every time I hear it!
To My Daddy:
Daddy, I hate being so far away from you but despite the distance, you are always in my heart. Not only because you are my dad, but because you are someone who has inspired me to dream and to go after my dreams.
I feel blessed every day that God has given me such a wonderful dad who I can be proud of. I am even more blessed that now being married, I have a second dad I can count on.
I also thank God as my heavenly father. The one who loved us so much that He gave his one and only son to be close to us.
Father's Day is a celebration of our earthly and heavenly fathers. If you don't have a father or a good relationship with your earthly Father, know that you have a heavenly father who loves you.

I am so happy for having a daughter like you. You have given me more than you can imagine. You have given me so much joy in so many ways. I am profoundly proud of the person you have become. I will always love you and I wish you all the best in life. Thank you for making Father's Day so special, Love Daddy. :-)
This is so sweet Melina, it made me teary. And I love that song too!
