Real Wedding: Katie & Nick

I have a beautiful wedding to share for you that Lori Barbely from Orlando shared with me, and as you scroll down the pictures, you will find that you might long to be in Florida right now! (unless you are in Florida!) The setting, the couple, the details, the photography, all gorgeous!

This post is a little bit different in that this comes to you from the perspective of the lovely photographer! Lori was kind enough to share tips for brides that she has gathered from her experience of working with many brides!

 

The Proposal Story (so cute!)

"He proposed to her over sushi dinner in Cincinnati... he made a production of digging for/forgetting his wallet and slipped the wring into the jacket the check came in. He handed it to Katie to pick up the check and she discovered the ring. When she looked up, Nick was down on one knee."

Tips from Lori to avoid pickles on your wedding day:

Make sure to eat something before the wedding, even if it's just a bagel and a bit of juice. Your body needs fuel to get through the day!

If you get easily stressed, try to limit the number of people in the bridal suite while you're getting ready. Surround yourself with enthusiastic, positive people to make the experience of getting ready for your ceremony a happy one.

When walking down the aisle, take your time and enjoy. Make sure you look at your groom and really take in the moment.

When standing at the alter, don't lock your knees! It stops the blood flow, which can lead to fainting.

Allow plenty of time for photos! It's always great to communicate with your photographer while you're planning your timeline. If you've got a short window between your ceremony and reception, you may want to consider doing a "first look" (seeing each other before the ceremony) and doing many of your photos prior to the main event!

If something doesn't go quite right the day of, don't sweat it! Often times you might be the only one that notices it's "wrong". Your guests probably think the cake looks fantastic even if it is only four tiers instead of the five it was supposed to be.
