The Solution: This really depends on the metal. You probably won't want a white gold engagement ring with a regular gold ring, unless it is what you want. It also depends on how much it bugs you or not. White Gold, Platinum, and Silver may look the same from a distance and no one will notice, but if you are easily annoyed with imperfection, the different metals may drive you crazy just knowing about it. However, you may be surprised. I have a white gold engagement and only wanted a white gold band to match it. However, the band I liked (and what my jeweler was going to give us for way less than retail value) was a platinum ring. We ended up getting the platinum ring.
Here are a couple options:
Try it On- You may notice a difference or you may not. You won't know until you can put the two rings together.
